Yes and no. Some lessons within the modules will encourage you to communicate with your teen via specific “Teen Talking Points.” Others won’t. There’s a deliberate reason for that.

You, as the parent, are on a unique college admissions journey and so is your teen. But those two paths are very different. I’m careful about not adding undue stress on your teen so I’ll empower you with how to talk about specific things you’ll be learning in a way that feels good and right. You're going to want your teen to hear what you're learning and sometimes you'll be a little more excited than they will or they just won't want to talk about it. I will help you navigate that, as well.

I’ll gradually pace you through the online course so you don't feel overwhelmed. Each module contains approximately 60-90 minutes of video content and up to 30 minutes of optional activities for self-reflection or to encourage “college talk” with your teen.

You'll also be invited to engage with others in our private The Admissions Formula Members Only Facebook group and if any college admissions stuff comes up for you or your teen, you can ask me questions in that group.

I don’t want you to focus on building your teen’s college list before you know what really matters to colleges and what you should be working on when! If you jump to the end, you’re going to miss out on HUGE learning—not just for you but for your teen as well!

The Admissions Formula is laid out perfectly from start to finish and is meant to be digested and absorbed in small bites. The last thing I want to do is to cause you any more stress and overwhelm—so modules are released accordingly.

There are 6 group coaching calls throughout the 12 weeks we will spend digesting the admissions content in The Admissions Formula.

Prior to each group coaching session, you will be invited to reflect on your experience with the modules we're working on & submit a question to be hashed out on our call. I pre-select the questions that I feel will most benefit our entire group and start with those first. You'll be invited to share on the call so we can get that question answered or issue resolved. Then, if there's time, we dig into the other questions submitted.

I also share insight and expertise on these calls that goes deeper than what's in The Admissions Formula course itself.

Our Facebook group is another place where we will engage in meaningful dialogue and discussion. I will answer your most urgent admissions questions & help you to better understand what you should be asking in the first place.

If you have a question, concern, worry, or comment, you’ll post it there. Members will have the opportunity to respond to each other’s posts and if it’s a question that needs my expertise, I’m all over it!

WHAT YOU LEARN in The Admissions Formula is all the critical stuff YOU need to think about, get a handle on, and decide on BEFORE it stresses out your teen.

Here's the thing: The Admissions Formula is NOT a substitute for 1:1 Admissions Counseling because your teen still must do the heavy lifting of staying on course, completing college applications, communicating with colleges, and writing A LOT ( I mean A TON) of essays.

Those things aren’t covered in this course because you can't pass the buck there.

But, here's what you CAN do: You can empower yourself to learn what YOU need to do to help your teen BEFORE that application stage arrives senior year. I am going to help YOU to help your teen build his or her absolute strongest case for admission to the colleges that are right for him or her. And I am going to give you the tools to have meaningful college conversations with your teen-- in a way that he or she will LISTEN.
